Director of AV Support

About the role

The Director of AV Support leads the University Information Services team responsible for audio‑visual technology across Georgetown University's Hilltop and Capitol campuses. This senior position ensures that classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces have reliable, state‑of‑the‑art AV resources to support teaching, learning, and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of AV engineers and technicians.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan for AV technology and services campus‑wide.
• Oversee design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of AV systems in all instructional and event spaces.
• Manage the AV department budget and allocate resources effectively.
• Provide high‑level service and support for all AV‑equipped locations.
• Collaborate with university stakeholders to identify and fulfill audio‑visual needs.
• Work with Facilities Project Management on construction projects to ensure AV requirements are met.
• Stay current with emerging AV technologies and recommend adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in audio‑visual technology.
• 3–5 years of leadership or management experience in an AV environment.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects.
