Director, Inventory Control

About the role

The Director, Inventory Control leads inventory control operations across multiple facilities within the market. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this senior leader ensures inventory accuracy, shrink reduction, and supports forecasting while driving consistency across sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multi‑site inventory control programs, standards, and SOPs; identify and recommend enhancements.
• Oversee market‑wide physical inventory activities, including wall‑to‑wall counts and inventory adjustments.
• Ensure consistent 3‑way match processes and SAP‑based inventory controls for audit readiness.
• Partner with Trade, Sales, Finance, and Operations to provide inventory insights for service, revenue, and performance goals.
• Account for order‑cycle performance, on‑time distribution, and shipment optimization; resolve escalated discrepancies.
• Report inventory performance, set KPIs, and hold site managers accountable.
• Lead, coach, and develop Inventory Control Managers, Supervisors, and associates across locations.
• Collaborate with HR, Loss Prevention, and Risk Management on security, theft investigations, and shrink initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in inventory control or supply‑chain operations.
• Experience managing multi‑site programs and driving process improvements.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret inventory data and forecast needs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
