Director, Institutional Giving

About the role

The Director of Institutional Giving leads Dream.Org’s institutional funding engine, overseeing grant writing, funder outreach, and reporting compliance. Reporting to the VP of Growth & Partnerships, this senior position ensures the organization meets its foundation and corporate revenue goals while maintaining high‑quality proposals and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full grant lifecycle: prospecting, planning, drafting, submission, and tracking for a portfolio of 75+ annual submissions.
• Develop and maintain grant work plans, timelines, and a submissions calendar using Asana.
• Interview program staff to translate outcomes into compelling proposals and reports.
• Ensure compliance with all foundation and corporate reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for foundation relationships, preparing materials for funder calls and meetings.
• Map institutional relationships, identify new prospects, and recommend revenue‑growth strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in nonprofit grant writing and institutional fundraising.
• Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written communication skills for high‑quality proposals and reports.
• Capacity to collaborate across program and organizing teams.
