Director, Information Security – Security Engineering & Operations

About the role

Achieve is seeking a senior leader to head its Security Engineering and Operations function. The Director will safeguard the organization’s systems, networks and data while shaping a security‑first culture across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the information security strategy, aligning it with business goals and managing the security budget.
• Lead a high‑performing team, set objectives, conduct performance reviews and drive professional development.
• Design and implement secure network architectures, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption and access controls.
• Oversee day‑to‑day security operations, incident response, detection engineering and alert management.
• Collaborate with Platform, DevOps and Application teams to embed security best practices into all technology initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience managing security engineering and operations in a complex IT environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a track record of building collaborative, security‑aware teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field (preferred).
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or GIAC (highly desirable).

Required skills

• Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection platforms.
• Cloud security for AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Network encryption, access control and secure architecture design.
• Detection engineering, alerting and XDR/MSSP integration.
