Director, DOE Project Manager

About the role

Converge Strategies is seeking a Director, DOE Project Manager to lead a portfolio of architecture‑engineering task orders for the U.S. Department of Energy. The position requires strong client‑facing communication, the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines, and oversight of multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for DOE clients, managing schedule, budget, and technical scope across multiple task orders.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, review design deliverables, and ensure they meet quality, schedule, and budget commitments.
• Administer subcontractors, handle invoicing, progress reporting, and lead project meetings with thorough minutes and action tracking.
• Identify and mitigate scope, schedule, or budget risks, escalating to leadership with recommended actions.
• Support project closeout, ensuring all deliverables and documentation are complete.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance and DOE site access).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience overseeing multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Experience with federal task order contracts (IDIQ, A&E design services); DOE or DoD contract experience preferred.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) preferred.
