Director, Controller - Security Solutions

About the role

The Director, Controller – Security Solutions leads the financial integrity of Mastercard's Security Solutions business unit. Reporting to the VP, Controller – Services & Integrated Marketing and Communications, you will partner with global finance teams, treasury, and shared services to ensure accurate reporting and robust controls.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business finance partners on accounting matters, including revenue and expense recognition, software capitalization, and impairment reviews.
• Assess accounting implications of operating models and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Coordinate with regional controllers to maintain consistency across global initiatives.
• Interface with external auditors on GAAP application for digital payments transactions.
• Manage compliance activities such as SOX, internal audit, and operational risk management, communicating exposures to leadership.
• Collaborate with internal reporting teams to ensure disclosures meet regulatory expectations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc management reports, variance analysis, and executive presentations.
• Drive process improvements and risk mitigation through cross‑functional partnerships.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Extensive experience in corporate controllership within a technology‑focused financial services environment.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX compliance.
• Proven ability to influence change and work collaboratively across finance, tax, legal, and product teams.
