About the role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide dignified, person‑centered care for developmentally disabled residents in group homes. You will help residents live with hope by supporting daily activities, skill development, and safe outings.
Key responsibilities
- Transport and safeguard residents on outings.
- Coach residents in skills development and administer medications.
- Provide personal care as needed.
- Perform household maintenance tasks, including meal preparation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stooping, crouching, and two‑person lifting up to 250 lb.
- Ability to maintain personal safety and respond calmly during physical or emotional outbursts.
