About the role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide dignified, person‑centered care to developmentally disabled residents in a group home setting.
Key responsibilities
- Transport and safeguard residents on outings
- Coach residents in skills development and administer medications
- Provide personal care as needed
- Perform household maintenance tasks, including meal preparation
- Other duties as assigned
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid NYS driver’s license
- Ability to perform tasks requiring stooping, crouching, and two‑person lifting up to 250 lb
- Ability to maintain personal safety and respond calmly during physical or emotional outbursts
What we offer
- Base pay $21–$22 per hour (weekend differential +$1/hr)
- Part‑time, evening, weekend and on‑call schedules available
