About the role

The Texas Division of Emergency Management is seeking a Digital Media Officer to lead its digital communications strategy. You will shape the agency’s online presence, engage statewide audiences, and deliver critical emergency‑management information through social media and the agency website.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social‑media strategy that supports emergency‑management initiatives and enhances the agency’s brand.
• Manage the publishing calendar, create and edit daily content (copy, photos, videos) for all platforms, and ensure timely dissemination of preparedness and response information.
• Conduct audience research, monitor trends, and analyze analytics to refine tactics and report on performance.
• Collaborate with design teams to produce visual assets that align with branding guidelines.
• Maintain and update the agency website, overseeing content publishing and user experience improvements.
• Establish an internal style guide to standardize voice and tone across digital channels.
