Digital Design Electrical Engineer I (Hybrid)

About the role

As a Digital Design Electrical Engineer I you will lead the full circuit‑design lifecycle for aerospace communication and test systems, working in a hybrid environment between Aguadilla and remote locations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, integrate, and validate hardware that meets stringent performance and reliability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Capture requirements, create schematics, perform performance, stability, ESD/Lightning, decoupling, and signal/power integrity analyses.
• Define board stack‑up, generate routing instructions, review PCB layouts, and produce test plans and root‑cause analyses.
• Develop engineering and production test systems, adapters, cabling, technical drawings, and integrate hardware into Collins products.
• Assist in managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.

Required profile

• STEM degree (B.S. or higher) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• U.S. citizenship (required to access program information).
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Circuit design lifecycle activities, schematic capture, and board stack‑up creation.
• Signal integrity, timing analysis, and FPGA/SoC design knowledge.
• Use of ECAD/PCB tools such as NX ECAD, Altium, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, KiCAD.
• Test equipment experience: logic analyzers, JTAG, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, RF spectrum/network analyzers, power meters, switches, oscilloscopes.
• Agile development environment familiarity (e.g., Jira).
