Digital Communications and Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) seeks a Digital Communications and Engagement Specialist on a three‑month consultancy to design and implement a coherent digital communications architecture for its 2026‑2027 strategic agenda. The role will support the launch of a flagship report, a major academic conference, and the development of a 2027 digital narrative and campaign plan.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on and produce a digital narrative plan for the October 2026 flagship report launch, including pre‑launch positioning, launch‑day amplification, and post‑launch analytics.
• Develop a communications plan and digital asset specifications for the December 2026 Africa Academic Conference, and deliver an analytical review of engagement outcomes.
• Conduct an analytical review of OSAA’s current digital audience, and deliver a 2027 digital narrative strategy, audience segmentation, campaign architecture, and design specifications for anchor assets.
• Provide ad‑hoc advisory input during OSAA’s 2027 annual planning process and compile a consolidated methodology note documenting analytical frameworks and tools.

Required profile

• First‑level university degree in communications, digital marketing, journalism, digital media or a related field; postgraduate qualification desirable.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in digital communications and stakeholder engagement, preferably in complex or private‑sector environments.
• Fluency in English (oral and written); working knowledge of French is desirable.
