Diesel Mechanic – Full-Time (Oakland, CA)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its Oakland Service Center. The role involves maintaining and repairing a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment on a full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines.
• Service Class 8 trucks, trailers, lift gates, dollies, and forklifts as needed.
• Handle air‑conditioning and electrical system repairs.
• Conduct welding tasks and maintain overhead doors and lift gates.
• Utilize the Cetaris system to manage work orders and documentation.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and work safely in a shop environment.
• Own set of professional tools.
• Valid Class A CDL is a plus.
