Development Accountant

About the role

The Development Accountant will manage all accounting duties for a portfolio of real‑estate development projects, working within a regionally focused accounting team to support Greystar’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Apply GAAP to prepare financial statements, journal entries, and accounting reports, ensuring accuracy and proper reconciliation.
• Maintain development and construction budgets, perform cost forecasting, and generate job‑cost reports for project directors.
• Manage cash accounts, execute monthly bank reconciliations, wire transfers, and vendor payments while forecasting cash needs.
• Serve as liaison for internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations for audit inquiries.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Experience with cost accounting, budgeting, and cash management processes.
