Design Engineer

About the role

Clopay Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Mason, Ohio team, supporting the development of high‑performance garage door and industrial closure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain engineering standards and drawings through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Complete line extensions and special requests to expand product offerings.
• Collaborate with Production, Strategic Manufacturing, and Marketing on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and product launches.
• Create 3D models using Autodesk Inventor for various materials and processes.
• Perform physical and theoretical analysis, testing, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D parametric modeling software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• High mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand and basic shop tools.
• EIT certification preferred; knowledge of motors and electrical control equipment preferred.
