Design Engineer

About the role

Ramp is looking for Design Engineers who sit at the intersection of design and front‑end engineering. You will turn ambitious ideas into real, high‑craft product experiences, prototype directly in code, validate with customers, and ship production‑ready interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build end‑to‑end product experiences, owning key surfaces from concept through production.
• Leverage AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to draft intent, explore implementations, and refactor code.
• Prototype interactive experiences in React and TypeScript and test them with real users.
• Extend Ramp’s design system with reusable components and patterns.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, and reliability, adhering to Core Web Vitals.

Required profile

• Strong experience across both design and front‑end engineering, delivering shipped interfaces.
• Portfolio demonstrating high visual and interaction craft in live experiences or prototypes.
• Systems mindset with interest in reusable components.
• Clear communication and comfort pairing with designers, engineers, and marketers.

Required skills

• React
• TypeScript or JavaScript
• Semantic HTML and modern CSS
• AI‑assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code)
• Design system or component library experience (nice to have)
