Design and Development Co‑Op, Summer 2027

About the role

Join Johnson & Johnson's MedTech R&D team in Cincinnati for a summer co‑op focused on design and development of medical devices. You will work on real projects, use state‑of‑the‑art tools, and receive mentorship from experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing, experimentation, and validation to support product design.
• Contribute to design solutions using CAD tools, simulation tools, and fundamental engineering principles.
• Assist in developing laboratory tests, interpreting data, and recommending next steps.
• Participate in rotations (3‑4 months each) with increasing responsibilities.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in Mechanical, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering (or related field) with at least two semesters completed.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 and legally authorized to work in the United States for the full term.
• Demonstrated leadership or involvement in campus or community activities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Experience with simulation tools and building kinematics models.
• Knowledge of stack‑up analysis.
• Ability to conduct testing, experimentation and data analysis.
