Design and Development Co‑Op – Spring 2027

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking R&D Design & Development co‑ops for the Spring 2027 term in Cincinnati, Ohio. The position offers hands‑on experience with state‑of‑the‑art tools, testing, and product design within the MedTech sector.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing, experimentation, and validation to support product design.
• Contribute to design solutions using CAD tools, simulation tools, and fundamental engineering principles under mentorship.
• Assist in developing laboratory tests, interpreting data, and recommending next steps.
• Participate in rotations (3‑4 months each) with increasing responsibilities and optional intermediate CAD training.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum two semesters completed (sophomore or above) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States for the full co‑op term without future visa sponsorship.
• Demonstrated leadership or community involvement and ability to work full‑time on‑site.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Experience or familiarity with simulation tools.
• Fundamental engineering principles for testing and validation.
