Database Lead – SQL, PHP, JavaScript

About the role

Our client is looking for a Database Lead to maintain and expand a SQL‑based relational database built in Empower DB. The role combines database administration, custom reporting, and light web support to help the organisation measure outcomes and improve decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead administration and ongoing support of the Empower DB relational database.
• Maintain data integrity, accuracy and usability, adding and updating records for people, programs and related content.
• Write, optimise and maintain SQL queries for regular and ad‑hoc reporting.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual and ad‑hoc reports and develop reporting logic to gauge outcomes.
• Support PHP‑driven server‑side tools and applications, and use JavaScript where needed to enhance reporting forms or web functionality.
• Assist with website updates and provide light support for social‑media technical updates.
• Recommend improvements to database structure, reporting processes and outcome tracking.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with relational databases and strong hands‑on SQL skills.
• Experience with PHP in a server‑based environment.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript.
• Ability to write custom queries, extract data directly from a database and create recurring and ad‑hoc reports.
• Understanding of database maintenance, record updates and data‑quality practices.
