Data Scientist - Mid (Defense Intelligence Enterprise)

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Data Scientist to support the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. You will build tools, models and pipelines that turn large, messy multi-intelligence data into actionable insight, from recommendation engines and automated lead scoring to predictive models that help analysts see around corners. The position is contingent on contract award, business needs, security clearance verification and funding availability, and is based in the National Capital Region (NCR) with a shift schedule of 0600 and 1800 hours, 8 hours Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze intelligence data sets through data analytics, engineering, mining, exploratory, predictive and statistical analysis
• Build ML-based tools and processes such as recommendation engines and automated lead scoring systems that automate analytic workflows
• Turn correlated data into graphical, written, visual and verbal narrative products
• Retrieve and merge information from disparate sources using Python, R and SQL
• Build prediction systems and apply data mining algorithms to large-volume multi-intelligence data
• Deliver visualizations in Power BI, Tableau and other graphical applications

Required profile

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
• 8+ years of relevant data science or advanced analytics experience, with recent experience in the last 2 years
• Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics or a related field
• Preferred: prior DIA or IC data science experience, deploying ML models in classified environments, and certifications in data science, cloud or ML platforms

Required skills

• R and Python, and merging data sources with R, Python or SQL
• Power BI and Tableau

• Base salary range of $120,000 to $160,000, depending on location and factors such as experience and education
