About the role
Join the Ethicon R&D team at Johnson & Johnson as a Data Science Co‑Op for the Spring 2027 term. You will work on structured and unstructured surgical data to drive insights for robotics, handheld instruments, and digital products.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze surgical data sets to uncover insights for product development.
- Contribute to concept design of new surgical tools and platforms.
- Write software for collaborative data analysis and ensure data quality.
- Develop and execute mechanical, electrical, and biological tissue experiments.
- Design and optimize data visualizations for stakeholders.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field.
- Minimum two semesters completed, GPA ≥ 3.0, and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Demonstrated leadership or involvement in campus or community activities.
- Strong interest in healthcare and medical device innovation.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Python data‑science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit‑Learn, PySpark).
- SQL knowledge.
- Familiarity with Tableau and Git.
