Data Entry Clerk – Laboratory Information Management

About the role

ALS is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to accurately input customer‑provided label and form data into its laboratory information management system (LIMS). The role supports the laboratory team by ensuring sample information is correct, up‑to‑date, and ready for analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Enter data from customer labels and forms into the company database with high accuracy.
• Process over 200 samples daily, following departmental guidelines and SOPs.
• Modify data as instructed by customers or supervisors.
• Notify the lab of test package changes, special requests, or priority (rush) analyses.
• Send problematic samples to customer service for resolution.
• Answer phones, assist customers, and correct incorrectly logged samples.
• Receive, open, and tray incoming samples each day.
• Research and resolve diagnostic reminders, assist with sample storage and disposal.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• 0–3 years of laboratory experience (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Comfort with internet‑based reference libraries.
