Data Analytics & BI Internship (Performance & Analytics Section)

About the role

This internship is based in the Performance and Analytics Section of the United Nations Department of Operational Support in New York. Over a 3‑6 month period, you will work on data‑driven projects that support strategic planning, performance monitoring, and innovation across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse data from public sources (including web‑scraping) and internal systems.
• Prepare data sets, data models, and surveys to support analytical work.
• Apply statistical or mathematical programming to interpret collected data.
• Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, and analytical tools.
• Clean and maintain databases or data systems sourced from primary or secondary data.
• Translate analytical results into written reports, visualisations, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Assist with data mining, optimisation, metric development, and predictive analysis.
• Contribute ideas for innovative data products and methods.
• Perform other duties as required by the team.
