Data Analyst – Institutional Data (Higher Education)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Analyst to help build a new institutional data function at a public educational institution in Southwest Michigan. The role is part of a multi‑year cloud migration and technology transformation, offering exposure to Power BI and a strong work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, interpret and communicate institutional data to leaders and departments.
• Develop recurring and ad‑hoc reports, dashboards and visualisations that support strategic planning, operational effectiveness, compliance and student‑success initiatives.
• Collaborate with a three‑person data team to design processes and analytics that influence organizational decisions.
• Support the ongoing cloud migration and modernization of reporting systems.

Required profile

• Practical experience working with data and performing core analytical responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently in a newly created position and help shape the data function.
• Higher‑education experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Power BI (or comparable business‑intelligence tools).
