Cybersecurity Federal Work-Study Position

About the role

This Federal Work‑Study position supports the Cybersecurity Program at Gwinnett Technical College. Working under the Cybersecurity Program Director, you will assist with day‑to‑day cybersecurity tasks while gaining hands‑on experience in a government‑linked environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cybersecurity Program Director with assigned projects and operational tasks.
• Handle and move equipment and boxes up to 50 lb as needed.
• Operate basic power tools (e.g., drill press) under supervision.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet program deadlines.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible for Federal Work‑Study funds and in good academic standing at Gwinnett Technical College.
• Enrolled in the Cybersecurity program.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of networking concepts and common cybersecurity tools.
