Cybersecurity Engineer (NASA JETSII Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to support NASA’s deep‑space exploration initiatives through the JETSII contract. You will work with a diverse team to model cyber threats, assess risks, and ensure the security of both terrestrial and space‑based systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cyber threat modeling, identify critical trust boundaries and map adversary tactics using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Aerospace SPARTA and D3FEND.
• Perform gap analysis and risk‑based assessments in line with NASA’s risk management plan.
• Develop briefing material for senior leaders (SES) and communicate cybersecurity activities across agencies.
• Collaborate with government and commercial partners on security for hybrid technologies.
• Define system design requirements, verification and validation for spacecraft software, hardware and networks.
• Provide technical consultation, impact assessments and remediation coordination for multiple‑system domains.
• Operate in a fast‑paced environment supporting rapid evaluation of cybersecurity risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, risk assessment or related engineering roles.
• Eligibility for a U.S. Top‑Secret security clearance.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to senior leadership.
