Cybersecurity Analyst / Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

Patriot Maritime is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst/Engineer to design, operate, and mature its information security program. The role supports a hybrid Azure/on‑premises environment, an active ERP migration, and multiple federal compliance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Own security monitoring with Microsoft Sentinel or equivalent SIEM, tune detection rules, triage alerts, and lead incident response.
• Manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Secure Score to drive continuous posture improvement.
• Monitor identity security events, privileged access, and anomalous sign‑ins via Microsoft Entra ID.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning across endpoints, servers, and cloud resources; coordinate remediation with IT and vendors.
• Develop, test, and maintain Incident Response and Disaster Recovery plans; lead tabletop exercises.
• Administer ISO 27001 controls, maintain evidence libraries, and support DFARS/CMMC readiness.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience in cybersecurity operations within a government‑contracting environment.
• Ability to work independently, communicate with executive leadership, and produce audit‑ready documentation.
• Strong understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, and CMMC compliance requirements.
