Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration (PRN)

About the role

R1 is a revenue cycle technology company serving hospitals, health systems and medical groups. It is hiring a Customer Service Representative for patient registration at LifePoint Paris Regional Medical Center. The position is PRN (part time, as needed) with no fixed schedule, and requires day, evening and overnight availability, holiday and weekend availability, and the ability to work up to 12-hour shifts. PRN associates are cross-trained in multiple departments as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients, helping them check in and register efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize delays in registration so patients get timely access to care
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required
• No healthcare background is needed; training is provided
