Cultural Resources Project Manager I

About the role

The Cultural Resources Project Manager I is a mid‑level position responsible for supervising archaeological field projects across Arizona and the Southwest, ensuring accurate historic and prehistoric site recording and compliance with agency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, staffing, invoicing and provide regular updates to supervisors.
• Organize fieldwork mobilization/demobilization and ensure QA/QC for data collection and client deliverables.
• Produce high‑quality reports meeting agency and SHPO/THPO standards.
• Mentor junior personnel and participate in business development activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience with Class III archaeological surveys in the Southwest.
• Strong technical writing ability demonstrated through Class I and Class III reports.
• Ability to travel to rugged field sites and work irregular hours.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required government clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe applications.
• Experience using GIS and tablet‑based field documentation tools.
• Knowledge of land‑managing agency requirements and Section 106/110 processes.
