Credit Risk Strategy Manager (Senior)

About the role

Cardless is seeking a Credit Risk Strategy Manager or Senior Manager to own the credit strategy for its growing cardholder portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Credit, you will work at the intersection of data, tooling, and operations to optimize customer‑level credit decisions as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Define logic and thresholds for credit line adjustments, balancing growth, risk, and customer experience.
• Develop and launch new programs such as balance transfers and spend campaigns.
• Build feedback loops between portfolio performance and policy triggers for continuous refinement.
• Design loss‑forecasting processes and maintain automated KPI dashboards.
• Partner with data science, engineering, compliance, brand, and bank partners to implement and approve strategies.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in credit risk strategy, portfolio management or underwriting within a financial institution, fintech or payments firm.
• Deep expertise in consumer credit portfolio management, including credit line management and utilization dynamics.
• Strong SQL skills and proven ability to use analytics for strategy evaluation and risk monitoring.
• Experience with credit risk models (regression, tree‑based machine learning) and production decision engines.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex trade‑offs into clear recommendations for executives and compliance teams.
