About the role
Crofton is seeking a certified Crane Operator to join its marine construction team in Portsmouth. The role involves operating and maintaining cranes on heavy marine projects while ensuring safety and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair cranes as needed.
- Develop and communicate lift plans, calculate load capacities, and execute lifts safely.
- Operate friction rigs and drive trucks/cranes to and from job sites.
- Read instructions and job information to perform proper lifts.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1‑2 years of crane operation experience in a construction environment.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC Card and security clearance for shipyard access.
Required skills
- NCCCO qualification (multiple crane types preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of crane signals and load chart reading.
- Ability to communicate lift directions and coordinate with crew.
- CDL License (preferred).
