About the role

The Governor’s Honors Program seeks a Counselor to support gifted high‑school sophomores and juniors during a four‑week residential summer program. The role involves delivering elective instruction, providing individual and group counseling, and participating in 24/7 on‑call rotation.

Key responsibilities

Provide counseling, assessments, crisis intervention, and on‑call coverage for program participants.
Develop and deliver a rigorous elective curriculum, maintain attendance records, and collaborate with staff on program activities.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree in social work, or Master’s in human services with at least three years related experience, or Bachelor’s with five years related experience.
Experience in case management, assessment, supportive counseling, and treatment planning.

Required skills

Strong organizational abilities and written/verbal communication.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively with diverse learners.

What we offer

A $5,000 stipend for the four‑week program.
On‑campus housing and dining at Georgia Southern University.
