About the role
The Counsel will join LA28’s legal team, reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel. This role supports the Games Delivery functional area by negotiating contracts, managing relationships with venues and partners, and preparing legal memoranda.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior legal staff on business transactions and legal matters, including venue use, design, construction, and city agreements.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate a wide range of documents such as confidentiality agreements, memoranda of understanding, term sheets, master services agreements, statements of work, waivers, consents, and real‑estate leases.
- Draft summaries, legal memoranda, and other correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with individual departments to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risk.
- Support negotiations with commercial and governmental partners related to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Required profile
- Strong negotiation, relationship‑building, critical‑thinking, and communication abilities.
- Self‑directed analytical mindset capable of handling a steady stream of independent work.
- Experience supporting senior legal professionals on complex contracts and transactions.
