Cost Engineer / Estimator (Remote, Full‑time)

About the role

Crystalia Glass LLC is seeking a Cost Engineer‑Estimator to join its remote team. The role involves translating architectural and shop drawings into accurate material take‑offs and quotes for glass, aluminum and steel partition systems, supporting both residential and commercial projects across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings and submitted quotes to determine suitable installation options for glass, aluminum and steel partitions.
• Perform precise quantity take‑offs for door and partition openings using architectural and shop drawings.
• Read and interpret door schedules, hardware sets and technical drawings to ensure correct product selection.
• Collaborate with the sales team to clarify project scope, technical requirements and deadlines.
• Request and verify compliance, regulatory certifications and other required documentation.
• Prepare detailed quotations that define materials, scope of work, exclusions and any assumptions.
• Identify technical errors in sales proposals and suggest corrective alternatives.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil/Structural Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong spatial thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven experience conducting quantity take‑offs from construction and mechanical drawings.
• Fluent Russian and English at B2 level or higher, with ability to work full‑time on EST schedule (8:30 AM‑5:00 PM).

Required skills

• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including basic formulas.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat for handling scaled PDFs.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, and hardware layout drawings.
