Cosmetology Lab Assistant (Hall Campus)

About the role

Lanier Technical College is seeking a part‑time Cosmetology Lab Assistant for its Hall and Dawson campuses. This temporary, per‑academic‑term position offers up to 29 hours per week at $18.00 per hour and supports faculty in delivering hands‑on cosmetology instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, safety procedures, and attendance tracking.
• Tutor or mentor students and provide guidance in the laboratory.
• Perform routine laboratory research and maintain clean lab environments.
• Obtain and organize class materials, texts, and supplies.
• Prepare, maintain, and operate laboratory equipment, manage inventory, and requisition supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Georgia cosmetology license (preferred).
• At least two years of salon experience (preferred).

Required skills

• Ability to research technical issues.
• Proficiency with job‑related computer software and general computer operation.
• Time‑management and quality‑management capabilities.
• Customer‑service orientation.
• Effective oral and written communication.
