Corporate Litigation Counsel

About the role

Uber’s Litigation Team is seeking a business‑oriented attorney to manage complex U.S. corporate litigation across multiple practice areas and delivery lines, including UberEats. The role reports to a Legal Director and can be based in several major U.S. cities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead strategy for a diverse portfolio of corporate litigation matters from pre‑litigation to appeals.
• Conduct fact investigations, draft briefs, respond to discovery, prepare witnesses, and negotiate settlements.
• Bring work in‑house where feasible and oversee all aspects of outside‑counsel relationships, including staffing, strategy, budgets, and compliance.
• Provide concise, practical legal advice to support business goals, covering contracts, advertising, trade‑secret protection, and product development.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate litigation risks.

Required profile

• Minimum of five years of broad litigation experience in a law firm or in‑house setting.
• J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy abilities with a track record of managing large case portfolios.
• High ethical standards and the ability to work effectively with senior business leaders.
• Practical experience with hearings, depositions, mediations, or trials is a plus.

Required skills

• eDiscovery knowledge, including document retention policies and production processes.
