Corporate Controller

About the role

The firm is seeking a Corporate Controller to join its finance leadership team in Manhattan. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this senior position will oversee controllership, financial reporting, operational accounting and internal control functions while working in a flexible hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing accounting organization across multiple functions.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual close process to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Partner with the CAO and executive leadership on strategic initiatives, operational improvements and finance transformation projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting operations, financial controls, reporting processes and automation.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, SOX and internal‑control frameworks.
• Oversee preparation and review of financial statements, SEC deliverables and supporting schedules.
• Collaborate with external auditors and advisors during quarterly reviews, year‑end audits and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures and best practices across the finance organization.
• Build strong relationships with Accounting, Finance, Investments, Treasury, Tax, Legal and Operations to support business growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA required.
• 10‑15 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including Big 4 public accounting and industry roles.
• Proven experience leading sizable accounting teams in a public company, alternative investment manager or commercial real‑estate investment organization.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, SEC reporting, internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Experience with commercial real‑estate investments or alternative‑asset platforms is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management and leadership abilities.
