About the role
Cedar is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead its accounting and finance function for a fast‑growing data‑center development platform. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the role combines hands‑on technical accounting, tax compliance and month‑end close leadership in an entrepreneurial environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the financial close process, ensuring accurate, timely financial results.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules, maintaining high standards of documentation and controls.
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure consistency across corporate entities.
- Serve as the primary technical accounting resource under US GAAP, researching, drafting and maintaining accounting policies and position memos.
- Own tax reporting and compliance, interfacing with external tax advisors for federal and state partnership returns, tax planning and forecasting.
- Collaborate with project accounting, financial reporting and other stakeholders to align accounting treatment, data flow and ledger consistency.
- Establish, document and maintain accounting processes, workflows and procedures to ensure scalability and knowledge transfer.
- Continuously improve close efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal accounting policies and controls.
- Provide analysis and insights to support strategic decisions.
- Lead by example in a hands‑on, entrepreneurial environment.
- Support external audits and other compliance activities.
Required profile
- Strong, progressive accounting experience with real‑estate, infrastructure or other capital‑intensive clients.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP relevant to management services, real‑estate and infrastructure projects (ASC 970, 360, 810, 606, 842, 820, 825, 946).
- CPA certification.
- Experience at a Big 4 or large accounting firm.
- Strong working experience with Yardi preferred.
