Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development and Retention

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks a Coordinator to lead development and retention initiatives for its student‑athletes, primarily supporting men’s and women’s basketball teams. This professional staff member will work within the Academic Support & Compliance office to enhance academic success and holistic growth of at‑risk student‑athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver programs that promote academic achievement, personal development, and retention for student‑athletes.
• Advise student‑athletes on course scheduling each semester and monitor academic progress.
• Conduct transfer eligibility evaluations and maintain accurate eligibility records.
• Co‑advise the Student‑Athlete Advisory Committee (SAC) and support its initiatives.
• Collaborate with coaches, faculty, and support services to align resources with student‑athlete needs.
• Track and report on retention metrics and program outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience working with college student‑athletes or in higher‑education support services.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
