Coordinator, Freshmen Programs

About the role

The Coordinator, Freshmen Programs will lead the day‑to‑day administration of the University of Maryland’s Freshmen Connection initiative. Working within Extended Studies, the role ensures smooth enrollment, registration, scheduling, communications and events while partnering with campus units to support student success.

Key responsibilities

• Manage operational aspects of Freshmen Connection, including enrollment processing, course scheduling and registration.
• Coordinate program communications, events, and outreach activities.
• Maintain compliance with university policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
• Provide academic advising within the context of program administration.
• Collaborate with campus partners to implement program initiatives and support student services.
• Assist with other undergraduate programs as needed by Extended Studies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of experience in education, academic affairs or related higher‑education administration.
• Knowledge of program management, assessment and instructional development for higher‑education students.
• Ability to interpret and apply university policies, regulations and laws.
• Strong multitasking ability and commitment to customer service in a culturally diverse environment.
• Successful completion of criminal background check and Child Protective Services screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
