About the role
Our store is looking for a Cook to join its Deli department, known for Indian curries and traditional meals serving a vibrant community.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes and ensuring high presentation.
- Control stock levels, perform stock takes and manage ingredient storage.
- Maintain recipe accuracy, perform costing on existing and new dishes.
- Uphold food quality, sanitation and health‑safety standards, including “clean as you go”.
- Assist in menu creation and implementation, and prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting).
Required profile
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably 1 year in food industry or catering.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends.
- Grade 12 education; culinary qualification advantageous.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Kitchen equipment operation.
- Costing of dishes.
- Stock control and inventory management.
