Controls Technical Specialist – Industrial Automation

About the role

As a Controls Technical Specialist you will troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the accuracy, reliability and data credibility of PLC and PC‑based automation systems. You will oversee PLC upgrades, wiring modifications on production equipment and collaborate with the maintenance team to support production line changes. The position works an off‑shift schedule (2nd or 3rd shift).

Key responsibilities

• Configure, program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Perform preventive maintenance for controls and manage electrical/control parts inventory.
• Provide electrical and programming support on plant capital projects.
• Implement control systems software upgrades.
• Support plant maintenance staff with instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA hardware and software.
• Assist in training maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of PLC software and electrical/hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline with 1+ years of relevant PLC and HMI system experience.
