Controls Technical Specialist II – Industrial Automation

About the role

Join Nestlé Purina’s dry pet‑food factory in Oklahoma City as a Controls Technical Specialist II, responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing PLC and PC‑based automation systems that support iconic pet‑food brands.

Key responsibilities

• Execute plant and capital projects by providing programming and electrical support from conception to completion.
• Implement control‑systems software upgrades.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Troubleshoot automation systems and provide instrumentation, PLC, and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support and training to plant maintenance personnel.
• Perform preventive maintenance for controls and manage electrical/control parts inventory.

Required profile

• Associate or technical degree in a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PLC‑based HMI systems.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• HMI/SCADA software support.
• Electrical wiring modifications on production equipment.
• Preventive maintenance for control systems.
