About the role

Join Johnson Controls as a Controls Systems Technician II and work on commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining HVAC control systems. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, delivering efficient solutions and ensuring building performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
• Respond to warranty calls and provide high‑level customer service.
• Load and update system‑level controller software.
• Conduct diagnostics on controllers, sensors, actuators, and complete required documentation.
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Maintain accurate timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
• Communicate job progress to management, contractors, and customers.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
• Provide recommendations, quotes, and upselling opportunities to improve facility efficiency.

Required profile

• Vocational school four‑year program or Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air‑conditioning, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience servicing electronic or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry (or 3 years with a degree).
• Knowledge of HVAC control systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
• Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Leadership ability to support mechanics on non‑critical building automation equipment.
• Proficient PC skills.
