Controls & Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join 3m as a Controls & Maintenance Technician and work with a global team of innovative engineers. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of electrical, mechanical, and control systems in a production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and maintain AC and DC motors, drive systems, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment.
• Support and troubleshoot control loops, PID loops, 4‑20 mA systems, industrial controllers, analog and digital PLCs, sensors, actuators, I/O devices, and control panels.
• Perform mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair on thermal oxidizer systems, including combustion, airflow, exhaust, heat recovery, dampers, and valves.
• Install and modify control and power wiring up to 480 V AC, ensuring compliance with NEC and OSHA standards.
• Read, interpret, and update AC/DC drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Execute preventive maintenance and support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and reliability improvements.
• Provide off‑shift support for planned maintenance, outages, startups, shutdowns, and unplanned equipment issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance or related field.
• Must be at least 18 years old, complying with U.S. labor and safety regulations.
