Controller – Finance & Accounting Lead

About the role

Exacare ai is seeking a Controller to own the accounting foundation and ensure financial integrity across the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the monthly close, technical accounting, compliance, and core finance operations that enable fast, confident decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a fast, accurate monthly close with a target of a 5‑day close and produce financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
• Establish and maintain revenue recognition policies (ASC 606) and internal controls across order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, and record‑to‑report processes.
• Partner with Sales and RevOps to ensure accurate quoting, billing, collections, and pricing governance.
• Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, credit management, and improve DSO and cash predictability.
• Implement vendor onboarding, approval workflows, contract renewal calendars, and spend controls.
• Manage multi‑jurisdiction payroll, benefits accounting, cap‑table hygiene, and stock‑based compensation.
• Lead or support NetSuite (or similar ERP) implementation and ensure financial data is the single source of truth.
• Maintain cash forecasting, banking administration, payment controls, and optimize vendor terms.
• Provide clean actuals and reconciliations for budgeting, forecasting, and unit‑economics analysis.
• Support strategic projects such as fundraising diligence, pricing changes, partnerships, and potential debt facilities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance.
• CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred; public accounting background helpful.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606; exposure to IFRS and multi‑entity or cross‑border operations is a plus.
• Proven track record of owning a fast, accurate monthly close.
