Controller – Corporate Accounting Leader

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing luxury consumer brand, is looking for a Controller to lead corporate accounting operations and financial reporting. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will drive the month‑end close, strengthen internal controls, and help scale the finance function during a period of rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all corporate accounting activities, including general ledger, month‑end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Manage and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Supervise balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals, fixed‑asset accounting, and lease accounting.
• Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and ERP optimization.
• Support special projects, system implementations, and business growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience leading month‑end close and preparing financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience in retail, apparel, consumer products, manufacturing, or multi‑entity environments.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting.
