About the role
Moog is seeking a Contract Specialist to join its Space & Defense Group. The role involves managing all phases of contractual matters for programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting Moog’s business interests.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review contracts, proposals, long‑term and teaming agreements.
- Interpret and apply FAR, DFAR, EAR, ITAR and other government regulations.
- Negotiate new contracts, change orders, and warranty claims.
- Collaborate with technical teams on data‑rights documentation and export licensing.
- Process milestone billings and various contract types (CPFF, CPIF, CPAF, FFP, T&M).
- Maintain excellent customer relations and support business travel as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical ability and capacity to work with limited direction under aggressive schedules.
- Experience with government and commercial direct contracts, including DOD, NASA, NOAA.
- Familiarity with warranty claims and government‑furnished equipment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense FAR (DFAR).
- Understanding of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
- Contract negotiation and drafting skills for domestic and international agreements.
- Strong grasp of contract law and related compliance requirements.
