Configuration Manager

About the role

Moog is seeking a Configuration Manager for its Space and Defense Group in Chatsworth, CA. The role is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining configuration management processes across the product lifecycle for aerospace and defense programs.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain product baselines, including functional, allocated, development, product, and as‑built configurations.
• Administer engineering change control processes (ECRs, ECNs, deviations, waivers) and coordinate multidisciplinary reviews.
• Maintain accurate configuration status accounting and provide reports to program management.
• Support functional and physical configuration audits, customer and regulatory audits, and ensure compliance with contractual and standards requirements.
• Assist program teams with proposal, development, production, and sustainment activities, and drive continuous improvement of configuration management processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Technical Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of configuration management experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing; 8+ years preferred.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Experience with AS9100 quality requirements and supporting government and commercial aerospace programs.

Required skills

• Configuration management tools and processes (ECR, ECN, change control).
• PLM, ERP, and document management systems (e.g., Solumina, Teamcenter, Windchill, Agile, SAP, Oracle).
• Knowledge of AS9100, EIA‑649, Model‑Based Definition (MBD), Digital Thread, and Digital Engineering initiatives.
