Compliance Specialist Supervisor – Property Tax Digest

About the role

The Georgia Department of Revenue seeks a Compliance Specialist Supervisor to lead a team responsible for county tax digest approval, property tax reporting, and training of local tax officials. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate ad valorem tax administration across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the annual approval of county tax digests and ensure all documents are uploaded to the DOR Property Tax System.
• Compile and publish the annual ad valorem tax report for statewide distribution.
• Examine and audit Forest Land Grant requests and other complex property appraisal cases.
• Develop training materials and conduct classes for tax commissioners and local officials on property tax procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED plus five years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or team‑lead role, or two years of experience at the lower‑level Compliance Specialist 3 (RCP062) or equivalent.
• Appraiser III certification or higher with extensive digest acceptance and review experience.
• Instructor experience with the Georgia Certification Program or comparable public‑speaking background.
• Deep knowledge of Georgia property tax laws, appraisal procedures, and governmental auditing practices.
