Compliance Specialist I – Insurance Department, State of Georgia

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Insurance Department is seeking a Compliance Specialist I to investigate reports and complaints related to insurance agents' licensing. Working under general supervision, you will help protect the public by ensuring compliance with state regulations and supporting departmental training initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate criminal and non‑criminal allegations concerning insurance agents’ licensing.
• Classify, prioritize, and analyze data, exercising discretion in data classification.
• Update and maintain training documents and standard operating procedures.
• Develop new processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Determine appropriate penalties, including license revocation, based on investigative findings.
• Request documents, collect evidence, and conduct investigative interviews.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommend criminal prosecution or administrative sanctions.
• Attend and testify at court hearings as required.
• Provide customer service via phone, mail, and in‑person interactions.
• Represent the agency at meetings, community outreach, and public events.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of job‑related experience.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
